INTRODUCTION
SAJIVA contains live cells of Pseudomonas fluorescens, a Gram-negative bacterium that thrives in the root zone and protects plants naturally. Most strains are obligate aerobes, requiring oxygen to survive, and the product is formulated as a talc-based bio-pesticide for easy application. It suppresses harmful bacteria like Ralstonia solanacearum and Erwinia caratovora and helps to control root-knot nematodes and other plant-parasitic nematodes, by reducing disease incidence.
Seed treatment, soil application around roots, or foliar spray before disease appears or at early signs. For preparation of Spray Solution: Mix Sajiva thoroughly with water and allow it to stand for 10–15 minutes. Then decant into a clean container and use the solution on the same day. Sajiva is compatible with fungicides. Do not mix with herbicides or chemical pesticides.
*Note: The above dose differs on region to region, crops and soils.
Composition | Quantity (1%w/w) |
Pseudomonas fluorescens (Cfu Count lx108/gm Min.) | 1.0% |
Carboxymethylcellulose | 1.0% |
Talc Powder | 98.0% |
Total | 100.0% |
It effectively controls soil-borne pathogens, including those causing bacterial wilt of okra, and suppresses plant-parasitic nematodes, specifically root-knot nematodes, that infect tomato, okra and other vegetables susceptible to bacterial wilt and nematode infestation. SAJIVA improves plant health by enhancing root growth, nutrient uptake, and resistance to diseases, reducing the need for chemical treatments.
